After Hurricane Rita (Texas and Louisiana), American Electric Power (AEP) sent 918 emergency personnel from 11 states to restore service to 12 counties. Following Rita in 2005, an AEP crew from Harlingen, Texas Iis replacing a utility pole and distribution line at a Vidor, Texas RV campground.
