After Hurricane Rita (Texas and Louisiana), American Electric Power (AEP) sent 918 emergency personnel from 11 states to restore service to 12 counties. Following the devastation of Rita in 2005, Alabama AEP emergency crews work in Sulphur, Louisiana to dismantle and replace a utility pole on Melanie Drive.
