Eleven zebra finches (Taeniopygia guttata), including 4 hens and 7 stripped cocks, have located a common perching space. They are the most common estrildid, waxbill in central Australia, but also range over the rest of the continent. They are also found in Indonesia and Timor-Leste. They have also been introduced in Puerto Rico, Portugal, and the USA. Zebra finches are highly social and congregate in flocks. They are also popular as pets. They adapt well to ares inhabited by humans as well as the wilderness, thus they're not considered to be endangered.
